Harvey L. Winters of 1235 Bossler Road, West Donegal Township was found dead in the rubble of his home following an explosion on Monday, Sept. 18.

The call to the explosion came into Lancaster County Wide Communications at 11:45 a.m., according to emergency dispatch.

Numerous fire crews responded to the scene across several counties and the public was asked to avoid the area.

The Pennsylvania State Police Fire Marshal is assisting the Northwest Region Police in the investigation.

Harvey enjoyed bowling, and was once a high scorer, according to LNP articles over the years.

He enjoyed spending time with his family and is survived by his wife Kathy, their son Darren and two daughters, and 6 grandchildren who called him "Pappy," according to WGAL's Meredith Jorgensen and public records.

Jorgensen noted in a Facebook post that the family had just celebrated Kathy's birthday on Sunday night.

Kathy was at work at the time of the explosion according to comments the family made on social media.

In addition to the loss of Harvey, the family has yet to locate their pets, according to Facebook posts by MaryLou and Tanya Pope Winters. The family is looking for their two cats and their beloved dog "Rusty."

A meal train has also been started by the family and will help Kathy through this difficult time.

This is one of three deadly fires in Pennsylvania that Daily Voice has reported on in less than 24 hours. A man died in a fire in Allentown overnight and the Loganville zoning board chair and former mayoral candidate died after being rescued from a fire on Tuesday morning.

This is the second explosion under investigation that we\'ve reported on in less than 24 hours, the other happened in Northampton County.
